Meet the Consultant
Dr. Eibhlin Conneally is a consultant Haematologist in St. James’s Hospital since November 2001. Dr. Conneally is a medical graduate of University College Galway. She undertook her initial Haematology training in St. James’s Hospital and subsequently trained in Mc Master University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Her career then took her to the Terry Fox Laboratory in Vancouver where she completed a Ph.D from the University of British Columbia. Following completion of her Ph.D., Dr Conneally joined the Leukaemia /Bone Marrow Transplant group in Vancouver where she was an attending physician until her return to Ireland in 2001.
Her interests include the biology/treatment of acute myeloid leukaemia and Stem cell transplantation. Her other main disease focus is the diagnosis and management of patients with Myeloproliferative Neoplasms including Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML). She serves on the UK and Ireland NCRN advisory group for CML/MPD. She is active in clinical trials in myeloid Malignancies. She is currently the clinical director of the Hope directorate within St. James’s Hospital.
